More information can be found on the Tutorial page, the FAQ page, as well as in the debate forum. A. How to set up timed automatic downloads in amateur invest? From the main window, you select "Admin." from the top left side. In the "Admin." window, in the marked area, you can set up Amateur Invest to automatically download stock prices / quotes. B. How do I set up securities and automatic stock price / quote updates on my own in amateur invest ? In the examples below (under topic C), you'll find more codes (Import id's) that can be entered into the securities window, like in the example here - also see our live screen cast: C. More examples of (how to find) Yahoo download codes. Below, you'll find examples for stock exchanges that are supported by Yahoo, and thus can have stock prices / quotes automatically imported into Amateur Invest - For FREE. Examples on setting up the automatic stock price updates are also given on the tutorial page, the screencast page, and the FAQ page on this internet site, as well as in the help pages in the program (invoked by pushing F1 - or select "help" button). To create the companies in Amateur Invest, you simply open the "Securities" window, enter the company name, and the code found at Yahoo (more code examples are given here below). - The code called "Import ID" in the window in Amateur Invest is called "Symbol" on the Yahoo site. You can find more companies at each national Yahoo. If your country is not listed, you could find companies from your country anyway - or you should then see, if the company can be found on another national Yahoo. You do this by going to www.yahoo.com - at the bottom of the page, you'll find all the other yahoo's around the world. Click on any. On the national Yahoo page, you can find a "finance" section, and there you can do symbol lookups. Enter the company name, and get the code. Eg. Looking up "Microsoft" gives the code "MSFT" (as in the example above). - Or use this lookup page, to find many stock index'es for countries around the world. Once in a while Yahoo could change the code for a company. You notice this, if the price for a company isn't updated. You find the new code the same way - and just change it in the company register (the "ID Import" field). In general: Many indexes and companies from around the world, can be found on this page: Lookup, or http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/m2 Click on the "components" link next to an index, and see all the codes for companies. - If you need help setting up a definition, then please write in the forum. - And remember, that you can always go to each national Yahoo finance page, and do a symbol lookup / search on any company!
